Getting access

Training is by request. Choose the tracks you need on the request page and our team reviews it. Once access is granted you receive a link to set up your learner account, and the lessons and exam of each granted track open in it. You can ask for more tracks at any time.

How the exam works

• Each attempt draws 40 questions from a larger bank, in proportion to the weight of each topic, so two people rarely see the same exam.
• The questions describe situations from real work and ask what you would do or what something means. Some ask you to choose two answers; those count only when both choices are right.
• You have 60 minutes, with a countdown on the page. Your answers are saved each time you move to the next page.
• The pass mark is 75%. You see the result and a score for each topic as soon as you submit. The correct answers are never shown, because they are shared by everyone who takes the exam.
• The exam is online and open book. It is taken without a proctor, and before you start you confirm that the work will be your own.

Retakes

If an attempt does not reach the pass mark, you can try again 24 hours later. You can make up to 3 attempts in any seven days. Each attempt draws a fresh set of questions and favours ones you have not seen before.

Validity and renewal

A certificate is valid for two years from the day it is issued. Renewal opens 90 days before it expires: pass the current exam again and the new certificate runs for another two years from the old expiry date, so renewing early never shortens your certification. We send reminders 60, 30, 7 days before a certificate expires.

Verifying a certificate

Every certificate carries a number in the form STX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Anyone can enter it on the verification page to see the holder's name, the certification, its dates and whether it is still valid. The page also states that the certificate was earned through an online, open-book exam without a proctor, so every reader knows exactly what it proves.

Becoming a STRAX consultant

Anyone who holds at least one STRAX certificate that is currently valid can register as a STRAX consultant and help organisations deploy STRAX. A consultant profile shows which certifications its holder has, and the consultant directory will list approved consultants. Every registration is reviewed by the STRAX team, which may ask for a short interview before approving it. A consultant keeps two-factor sign-in switched on, and every change to a profile is reviewed again before it goes live.

A listing lapses automatically when the consultant no longer holds a valid certificate, and it returns once they do again. Visitors contact consultants through a form on the profile page, so a consultant's email address is never published.

Learner terms

By creating a learner account and taking an exam you agree to these terms (version 2026-09):

• One account per person, in your own name. The name on your certificates is the name you register with, and it cannot be changed once a certificate has been issued.
• Exams are your own work. You may use the lessons and the product itself, but another person may not help you, and you may not copy, record or share the questions.
• We may withdraw a certificate, close an account or remove a directory listing when there is good evidence of cheating, impersonation or misleading claims. We tell you why and you can respond.
• A certificate shows that its holder passed the exam. It is no guarantee of the quality of any work done for a customer, and consultants are independent of Exousia Software.
