Push notifications
Setting up Push notifications
The OneSignal app, key and client identity mapping for push notifications.
Before you start
Your mobile team adds the OneSignal SDK to the app and calls its login with the client id after sign-in. Ship that app update before enabling the channel, since clients on older versions have no push identity yet.
Steps
Each channel installs disabled, so nothing is sent before these steps are done.
Create the OneSignal app
Set up OneSignal for your mobile or web app.
Store the key
Enter the REST API key as the full header value and set the OneSignal app id in the settings.
Log in clients
Make your app log in to OneSignal with each client's id.
Register identities
Register the same id as each client's push identity through the Reach application interface.
Enable the channel
Register the channel as enabled and send a test notification.
OneSignal is a trademark of its owner, named here only to identify the service this package connects to.
