Setting up Email
The sending provider, inbound service, event webhooks and threading settings for email.
Before you start
Set up SPF and DKIM for the domain you send from, whether that is your SMTP account or a provider, so client mail providers trust the messages. Then decide which service receives replies and point that domain's MX records at it.
Steps
Each channel installs disabled, so nothing is sent before these steps are done.
Choose the sender
Leave the provider setting on smtp and configure the STRAX email account, or pick Postmark, SendGrid or Mailgun and store its key and verified From address.
Connect inbound mail
Deploy the inbound workflow for your service and point Postmark inbound, SendGrid Inbound Parse or a Mailgun route at its public address.
Add the event webhook
Deploy the event workflow for your provider and subscribe it to bounces and drops.
Use the inbound address
For plus-address threading, let replies reach the inbound domain your service reads.
Test threading
Reply to a message Reach sent and check that it lands in the same conversation, then bounce a test address and watch the message turn failed.
Postmark, SendGrid and Mailgun are trademarks of their owners, named here only to identify the service this package connects to.
