STRAX Reach · Team and community chat
Post Reach updates into a Google Chat space
Teams on Google Workspace can follow client escalations in a Chat space. Reach posts each update through the space's webhook and keeps every conversation in its own thread.
- Space webhook
- One thread per case
- Webhook address in the vault
A thread for every case
Google Chat gives each space an incoming webhook address with a key and a token. Reach stores that address in the credential vault and posts the subject in bold with the message text below it.
Every post names a thread key built from the Reach conversation, so updates about the same client case stack up in one thread and the space stays readable. A new case opens a new thread automatically.
Google Chat accepts about one message per second per space. Reach retries politely when the space is busy, which keeps short bursts from getting lost.
Spaces suit teams that coordinate around a case: a collector, a supervisor and a compliance officer can discuss an account beside the automated update, while the client conversation itself stays in Reach where agents answer it. Nothing a client wrote is exposed beyond the summary you choose to post.
Where it helps
Collections team huddles
Post promise-to-pay updates from clients into the collections space, one thread per account.
Fraud desk alerts
Share each suspected fraud report with the fraud space, keeping the analyst discussion in the same thread.
Merchant escalations
Keep the merchant support leads informed when a large merchant raises a settlement query.
Daily operations digest
A scheduled workflow queues a morning summary of overnight client complaints, failed sends and open escalations, which lands as one tidy thread for the operations managers before stand-up.
What you need
-
A Google Chat space
In a Workspace where incoming webhooks are allowed.
-
The space webhook address
Created under the space's apps and integrations, stored in the STRAX credential vault.
-
An escalation contact
One Reach contact that represents the space.
-
Reach Core
Queues the posts and keeps the case history they refer to.
Good to know
Webhooks can only post into the space. Replies written in the space stay in Google Chat and are not read back into Reach.
Questions
Why keep the webhook address secret?
The address carries its own key and token, so anyone who has it can post into the space.
Can updates start a new thread?
Each Reach conversation has its own thread. The first post for a conversation opens it and later posts reply in it.
Can we use cards?
This version posts formatted text. Cards are a later addition.
Can we post to more than one space?
One space per install in this version, because the address lives in one credential.
Does anyone outside our domain see the posts?
Only members of the space. Keep client-facing detail light, since spaces are often shared with contractors or partner staff during an incident review.
