STRAX Reach · SMS, email and voice

Two-way SMS through Twilio or Clickatell

SMS reaches every handset. Reach sends through Twilio or Clickatell and files each reply against the client who sent it.

Part of Reach
  • Twilio or Clickatell
  • Checked replies
  • sms link codes

The channel every client already has

Choose the provider in one setting. Twilio replies arrive signed over the full webhook address; Clickatell reply callbacks carry a token you choose. Either way, Reach matches the phone number to a client and adds the message to their conversation.

Outbound messages go through the provider you picked, from your number or sender id. Applications register client numbers as digits, so the same record works across SMS, WhatsApp and voice.

For payment companies, SMS is often the channel of record for confirmations because every client can receive it. Reach keeps those confirmations on the same record as any chat that follows, so an agent answering a WhatsApp question can see the SMS the client is asking about.

Where it helps

One-time notices

Tell a client that a payment was received or a card was blocked, with replies handled by your team.

Collections reminders

Remind clients about an upcoming or missed payment and keep their answers on file.

Feature phone users

Serve prepaid clients who never installed a chat app.

Verification codes with context

Pair a one-time code with a short explanation, and let a client reply straight away when they did not ask for it.

What you need

  • A Twilio or Clickatell account

With a number or two-way sender id for the countries you serve.

  • Provider keys

Account id, sender and API key or auth token, stored in the STRAX credential vault.

  • A public HTTPS address

For replies; outbound-only use needs none.

  • Reach Core

The records and console the channel files into.

Good to know

Long messages are split by the provider and each part is billed. Keep automated notices short and move rich content to chat channels or email.

Questions

Can we switch provider later?

Yes, change the provider setting and fill in the other credential; client numbers and history stay as they are.

Do clients see a number or a name?

That depends on the sender you configure and on local rules. Two-way replies need a number that accepts replies.

What is still missing?

MMS and documents are the next step. Check the Clickatell reply fields against a live callback before go-live.

How are replies matched to clients?

By the phone number, stored as digits. A number linked to one client record always resolves to that client, whichever provider carried the message.

What happens on install

After the import, and only with your consent, the installer runs:

  • Reach - Register Channel : Registers the SMS channel with Reach Core, disabled until its credentials are entered
Security screening. This bundle carries executable workflow steps and embedded secrets. These flags are recomputed server-side from the actual package contents (they are never taken from the author), and STRAX asks for your explicit consent before installing executable content.
