Setting up WhatsApp
The Meta app, the number, the webhook and the templates you need before WhatsApp can send and receive.
Before you start
Meta reviews business verification and display names before a number can message at volume, which can take a few working days. Start that review early, and use the test number Meta provides while the Reach side is being configured.
Steps
Each channel installs disabled, so nothing is sent before these steps are done.
Create the Meta app
Add the WhatsApp product to a Meta for Developers app and register the business phone number you want clients to see.
Store the credentials
Enter the app id, phone number id, business account id, the permanent token and the app secret in the WhatsApp Cloud credential.
Connect the webhook
Deploy the inbound workflow on a public HTTPS address and run the webhook registration workflow with your verify token.
Add link codes
Set your WhatsApp number in the Reach settings so link codes open a chat with it.
Enable the channel
Once the credentials are in place, register the channel as enabled and choose who may write: anyone, known clients or linked clients only.
